The card is amazing, it outperforms the 6800xt that they said would surpass the 3090 (never). This specific version does have some minimal coil whine, which is not a major issue overall and I don't think it's worth returning for that reason, especially now that there are no immediate replacements available. If you read forums, you'll see that many cards, especially when running at high framerates, have this issue. I've been using it for 2 months and I highly recommend it

After one month of use, suddenly it started making a very annoying loud coil whine. It happened 7 working days after the launch day. I remind you that it didn't do it from the beginning, it started later. The power supply was changed, but it did the exact same thing. So I don't know if I would get it again. Obviously, the card was returned for replacement or repair. I don't have any updates yet.

Edit: Asus doesn't consider it a problem and won't replace it. I can't live with this sound and of course, it affects the resale value of the card... I find it unacceptable...

A honest implementation from ASUS (as much as a product can be close to a thousand euros).
The cooler frame and back plate are made of metal. There is a dual bios with performance/quiet options. This particular feature is more useful for those who want to experiment with bios flash, having the second one as a backup if something goes wrong. For the average user, the only thing that changes is the fan rpm, which regardless of the mode, will not be a problem with their noise.
In terms of temperatures, max 65 °C in performance mode/ 72°C in quiet mode.
The boost clock is a painful story, as it is with all Ampere cards. At 72°C, I consistently had 1920mhz on the core. "Exceptional!", someone might say, with the reasoning that the factory boost is 1785mhz. The problem is that the core clock is mainly affected by the power limit set by the Bios. This particular implementation has a 350W PL (370W with the hypothetical +10%), practically you will never see these numbers as the core clock starts to drown around 330W. Even with liquid cooling, the performance benefits are zero. For those who are into overclocking, it's better to look for implementations with 3x8pin power supply (370~450W PL).
I saved the worst for last...coil whine! It exists and it can be perceived as quite annoying.

3 stars because I didn't expect Asus to use cheap materials, and I'm referring to the capacitors on the processor.

    Verifizierter Kauf

Obviously, we are talking about the flagship of NVIDIA, as the RTX 3080 is currently the second most powerful graphics card after the RTX 3090. You can expect nothing less than extremely high FPS in 4k and Ultra settings in almost any title available today.

The ASUS implementations of these cards are recommended, as unlike all other 3rd party manufacturers, ASUS is the only one that uses 6 arrays with MLCC capacitors in its cards (meaning it provides the best capacitor set currently available in RTX 3080 and RTX 3090). This means that these cards are quite flexible in overclocking without any filtering issues, which can lead to instability.

The price is slightly increased due to extremely limited stock, but once the inventory issue is resolved, it will fall into more reasonable ranges. By the way, the price in relation to its performance is excellent.

As an example, in collaboration with the i9-10900K:
In GTA V at 4k and all settings on Ultra, FPS range around 90-110.
In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 at 4k and all settings on high, FPS range around 65-75.
In most VR titles, you can comfortably reach 500% Super Sampling without the refresh rate exceeding 6-7ms (approximately 145 FPS).
