FERTAN is a product that decomposes rust and forms a "protective film" on the metal surface. Unlike many other products, FERTAN does not cover the rust but chemically dissolves it. It does not leave an acidic surface and does not turn rust into a dry layer. FERTAN decomposes rust into an inactive powder that falls off the affected metal, reveals the bright metal, and forms a new protective film on the clean rust-free surface, with a specific color depending on the carbon content of the metal. This is a mixture of iron with tannin that protects against new corrosion.

FERTAN has a dual action: it decomposes existing rust as the product reaches the intact metal underneath. A dense layer of iron and tannin forms on the surface. This layer is insoluble in water and creates the ideal base for subsequent treatments (primers, rust protection agents, waxes, etc.). It can be used on slightly rusty, heavily rusty, or clean metals. Because the product is water-soluble, it penetrates even the smallest joints, coatings, and even under cracked paint layers. It can be applied in dry and wet areas. It does not damage plastic, rubber, chrome, glass, or surfaces coated with uniform paint.

The protective effect of FERTAN lasts for years, provided the surface is coated with paint, wax, etc. FERTAN can also be applied outdoors in all weather conditions except freezing temperatures.

Application and instructions for use:

• Using a brush, water, or other auxiliary tools such as light sandblasting, remove rust and clean the surface from all detachable substances such as oil, grease, silicone, etc.
• A protective film is formed on the rust-free surface with a color depending on the carbon content of the metal.
• Apply FERTAN with a brush, roller, sponge, or spray gun. Depending on the application and surface condition, one liter of FERTAN is sufficient for approximately 10–15 m².
• FERTAN works excellently in a humid environment; that is, it can also be used in light drizzle or in the presence of condensation.
